First Book of the Month box

Hello All,

I received my first Book of the Month box on Saturday. I was so excited to get it and I kept tracking the delivery multiple times a day.

So when I finally got it and opened the package, I was a bit underwhelmed. I mean I knew what was coming because I ordered it, but I thought there’d be more of a welcome. Stickers, a pin, maybe even a small tote bag. Here’s what I got:

am reading, am writing, blog, Book of the Month, books, BOTM, box, monthly, novels, Review, subscription, subscription box, underwhelming

Hey guys!

I hope you all liked the Dacre Stoker interview! I was so nervous interviewing him, but it was so much fun. I hope to have the opportunity to interview more authors in the future.

We are still working on a few chapters of “Uncovering the Phantom.” We want to have a few chapters done so that if life interferes (as it has the past few weeks), we still have content for you guys. That being said, what kind of content would you guys like to see? Do you like the blog posts and reviews? They’re always fun to write. Are there any specific reviews or blog posts you guys would like to read? We’re always up for suggestions!

Let us know what you want to see in the comments. We are always happy to oblige.

Hectic Holidays

Hey all, Jen here! Sorry that there haven’t been many posts the past few weeks. With the holidays, things got crazy. My parents came to visit from New Jersey and work has been nuts, but now we’re back!

We hope to publish “Uncovering the Phantom” soon. We want to have a few chapters finished before publishing so that if another hectic time happens, we have chapters available for you guys to read. So far it’s looking pretty good, and we hope that you guys will enjoy it.

We also hope to publish some book reviews soon. I just finished a good book called “The Architect of Song” by A.G. Howard. She had also written another book I really liked, called “Roseblood.” K. Leigh would know this book well, as she was the one who bought it for me. As far as book designs go, that has to be the second best book I’ve ever had.

I also did a bad and bought an expensive book. I had seen that Easton Press had published a Limited Edition Deluxe Illustrated copy of “The Phantom of the Opera,” signed by the artist. It’s absolutely beautiful, guys. There are 22k gold accents and it’s in a beautiful slipcover. I wanna open it and see all the beautiful illustrations, but we’re gonna get gloves first, so that I don’t ruin it. I will probably do a review once I get around to opening it.

So, I want to know what you guys want to see. Do you want more blog posts? More reviews? If reviews, are there specific ones you’d like to see? Just let us know! We love hearing from you guys.

Website

Hi all! It’s Jen, one of the triumvirate of awesome people who help run this website. Let me start off by telling you guys a little bit about the website.

Writing Across the Lines is a round robin website. What is that, you ask? Round robin is when members of a competition take turns participating. In writing, it’s when members of a group take turns writing parts of a story. For example, our first story is based on the novel The Phantom of the Opera. K is writing the first part of the story, and then it’s my turn. Sounds fun, no?

We also have a blog (obviously) where we will write about whatever is on our minds at the moment. Please feel free to comment if you wish (which is always encouraged!). We love feedback and comments. We also have a tips page, where we will post tips, tricks, and lifehacks that will help your day go by smoother and will hopefully entertain you.

Cym will be a contributor and our social media guru. We have a Twitter, Instagram, Facebook page, and a Pinterest page, so if you would like to hear more from us and see what things we find interesting, give us a like and a follow on those platforms. Again, we’d love to hear from you.

Overall, the page is about fun and friendship. We knew each other from college, where we all attended Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. K lives in New Jersey, Jen lives in Florida, and Cym lives in Maryland. Even though the distance is vast, we still remain great friends.

Well, that’s a fun first blog! We hope you enjoy your visit to Writing Across the Lines!
